JobWatch spoke to The Age about COVID-19 vaccine mandates in the workplace.
“The case law to date has related mainly to high-risk scenarios such as flu vaccines in the healthcare sector where the employer’s decisions were found to be lawful and reasonable in the circumstances,” said Zana Bytheway, executive director of employment rights community legal centre JobWatch.
“It would certainly be interesting to see how this plays out in the future, if for instance, an office worker in a lower-risk business was to challenge a vaccine mandate in their office.”
